Join Us for the LRA “Taste of Field Day” Event!

Come experience the excitement of amateur radio at our Taste of Field Day, hosted by the Lakeshore Repeater Association (LRA)! Whether you’re a licensed ham, a curious newcomer, or just looking for a fun afternoon outdoors, there’s something for everyone.
🌟 What to Expect:
- Emergency Field Day HF transmitters
- “Big Gun” remote HF Radio stations
- BYO POTA stations
- Family-friendly fun – kids, non-hams, and Tech class operators welcome
- Picnic food and refreshments (BYOB and bring your own chairs if desired)
- Plenty of picnic tables and great company!
This is a free event and offers a shorter, more casual version of the ARRL Field Day—perfect for anyone curious about amateur radio without the overnight commitment. Extended operation into the evening (until 11:00 PM) is possible if there’s interest!

Richard Bong State Park – Shelter #1
Enter from SR142 (Burlington Rd), take the first left after the entrance ranger station, go about 1000 feet, and turn right into the Shelter #1 parking area. We’re right next to the park amphitheater.

A Wisconsin State Park vehicle pass is required:
- $8/day or $3 for seniors (65+)
- Annual passes also available at the entrance
